It seems that words sung to music can be more powerful and stay with us longer than words that are just spoken. There's just something about music that makes words so much better. Maybe it's the emotions that songs stir up in us. Does that make any sense?
One morning, as my wife and I were having breakfast, a song came on the radio and after it was over I commented that there was more truth in that four minute song than we've heard in a lot of forty minute sermons. I joked that maybe we should start a church with only music. Little did I know at the time what God had in mind for us to do.
Because a whole lot of what is played during church services is praise music, here we will have links to mostly worship music. Praise music is great. It's generally upbeat and can be exciting. Worship music is, well, worshipful. It can change your life. I know it changed mine.
Every song listed below has touched my heart and most have brought me to tears, caused me to raise my hands, or both. I pray you'll enjoy them as much as I do.
